Visit Uzbekistan

A note first

There is no official ranking — and we will not invent one

No tourism authority publishes a ranked list of Uzbekistan's most expensive places. What follows is a practical guide to where costs genuinely run highest, with sourced anchors where they exist.

The priciest stays

The top of the market is Tashkent's five-star hotels — the Hyatt Regency and Hilton Tashkent City class — followed by Samarkand's Hilton Regency and Khiva's Farovon (about $120–200/night per a 2026 guide). Tashkent is generally the priciest city to sleep in: it is the capital, with business hotels and the deepest luxury stock. Bukhara and Khiva boutique stays usually cost less.

The priciest experiences

The priciest city, in practice

Tashkent: hotels, fine dining and imported goods all cost more here than in the Silk Road cities. Samarkand's Silk Road Samarkand tourist complex is the other premium pocket — modern, purpose-built, and priced for tour groups.
